Martin Worth
Outdoor Leader / Course Director / Assessor
Martin has 36 years experience in the outdoors, commencing bushwalking in 1974 and progressing to abseiling and rockclimbing in 1980. He established the outdoor operations business, WorthWild, in 1990 after leaving a career in Information Technology as a Business Analyst.
Since commencing operations until 2007 (when Martin stopped running the company full time) WorthWild enjoyed a reputation as the leader in adventure training services in South-East Queensland. Under Martin's leadership, WorthWild, expanded to provide;
- Recreational adventures in Abseiling, Rockclimbing, Canoeing, Kayaking, Bushwalking and Mountain Biking
- A Nationally Approved training program for Outdoor Leaders
- Adventure Teambuilding services for Corporate Training
- Consultancy in Standards and Procedures for Risk Management and Litigation.
Present commitments
WorthWild now functions as a vehicle for Martin's current business committments which include;
A Youth Leadership program for Brisbane Youth Service. This program promotes social and workplace skills for homeless youth through delivery of a Certificate II in Outdoor Recreation. Martin uses Outdoor Recreation as a mode for training in subjects such as; Occupational Health & Safety, First Aid, Working in Teams, Basic Logistics and explores leadership training for young people through the Outdoor LEadership component of the program.
Training and development of Outdoor Leaders as a trainer/assessor affiliated with Asset Training Australia for whom he develops course materials and runs Certificates II, III, IV and Diploma courses in Outdoor Recreation.
