Mixed mode delivery
Our delivery mode differs from main stream training in that you will be training within an operating outdoor business. The difference that you will find is that the course is not formally structured, 9 to 5, five days a week but rather you will be studying in a ‘part time’ mode that allows the opportunity to continue working or to seek employment opportunities in Outdoor Recreation while you are studying with us.
There are formal training and classroom sessions which are scheduled on a rotational basis which must be attended. These are typically one day to two days a week (as scheduled ahead) plus, as we take advantage of opportunities that arise in the day to day business operations of our operation (click here for link) you may have opportunity for additional on the job training as client bookings arise within your scope of capability.
Activity (and on the job) training is integrated with other students and is scheduled based on the immediate needs of students enrolled in the course. For instance, your initial training may be integrated with other ‘recreational’ clients and may be run by other students who are gaining on the job training under the supervision of our instructors.
There is an expectation that you will complete study at home, in your own time. You may seek assistance by telephone tutorial if you require it between sessions.
Intrinsically, if you require a highly structured course, then this isn’t the one for you.
But, if you are motivated to learn and want to work with real clients learning the business ‘live’ and you want to be confident to lead groups in the outdoors on completion of your training, then I would welcome the opportunity to talk with you and discuss your future training opportunities.
